The field phase ran between 9 May and 30 June 2019 in cooperation with approximately 40 Czech public and private higher education institutions, which addressed their Bachelor and Master students through institutional emails. The initial download of data collected into the ZOFAR application (operated by Deutsche Zentrum für Hochschul- und Wissenschaftsforschung) took place during July and since then we have the data available for cleaning and the first basic analysis.
At this point, we would like to thank the respondents as well as our contact persons and their colleagues at universities who addressed the students.
We have also winners of our prize draw: together there are 38 winners who already received electronic vouchers – CZK 5,000 (three winners) and CZK 1,000 (35 winners). For the draw we used a random number generator, in which one number always represented one provided (only for this purpose!) e-mail.
We are going to prepare the first summary presentation of Czech data in the autumn of 2019, the presentation of results in international comparison is likely to start in the second half of 2020.
The first known figures illustrating the scope of EUROSTUDENT VII research in the Czech Republic:
– approximately 240,000 students in the Czech Republic were contacted by e-mail address;
– a total of 34,855 respondents entered the questionnaire, of which 29,175 started to complete the questionnaire in Czech language and 1,470 in English;
– 19,365 respondents completed the questionnaires;
– 15,562 respondents left their email address for the prize draw;
– among the respondents who fully completed the questionnaire, there were 12,248 women and 7,362 men;
– 16,424 respondents study in Bachelor’s programs, 7,239 in “follow-up” Master’s programs and 3,790 in “long” Master’s programs. A total of 27 453 respondents provided this information. The question was at the beginning of the questionnaire and therefore the number is much higher than in the case of the gender question of respondents.
– 23,717 respondents studied in full-time study and 3,720 in part-time study. It was also one of the introductory questions.
